Just
had a good conversation via web with one of the TOYM (Ten Outstanding
Young Malaysian) finalist for the year of 2011 under entrepreneur &
leadership category. Indeed is rare opportunity and hard to get in touch
with and this phrase is a must share
"..treat your staff well
and with fairness, and they will treat your customers well. Take
advantage on your staff and step on them, and they will
pass that attitude on to your customers. Understand that your staff are
the people who dedicate their time everyday towards ensuring the
stability and growth of the company. They deserve your absolute respect.
Your staff are one of the most important assets of your company and is
one of the BIGGEST reasons for your success or failure.."
Mention after one the case scenario when one of the staff mistakenly
bill wrong currency to the customer and was almost facing legal charge
when it was solved by the owner company calmly without asking the staff
who made mistake to compensate. Surprisingly, did not scold / yell or
issue warning to the staff. And now the staff is holding one of the
highest position in the company.
For your info, the owner is
one of the richest in SEA (south east asia) at the age of 26 year old.
One of the good advise "...those who never face life difficulties /
hardships from young will never know what is success mean to them..."
